Customer in Focus – Brindle Group – Good Grocer, Rottnest Island General Store
The Brindle Group is a Western Australian, family-owned group, with over 30 years in the retail industry. They oversee a number of high-end supermarkets across the Perth Metropolitan region and regional WA along with retail stores on Rottnest Island.
Platinum Bags began supplying calico shopping bags and insulated cooler bags to the group in 2018 and had been supplying reusable shopping bags and cooler bags to the Rottnest Island General Stores prior to this.
The group has five Good Grocer Stores in Applecross, Shenton Park, Leederville, South Perth and Karratha along with IGA Stores in Canning Bridge, Wembley and Myaree.
The Good Grocer Collection was launched in 2015. The Good Grocer is a private label and premium product range, featuring predominantly fresh and quality Western Australia food products. The concept provides smaller producers who don’t have their own distribution channel and opportunity to package, label and distribute their product in retail stores.
A great deal time and effort went into choosing the right bag types and designs. Great quality and durability were essential, as was ensuring the bags represented the high-end nature of the brand well.
The calico shopping bags are made from a natural coloured calico fabric and have internal lamination to reduce any moisture absorption. The brown handles and side trim of bags match the brand colour in the Good Grocer logo. The result is an incredibly functional bag for use at the checkout but also one that doubles easily for the beach, a picnic, kids swimming lessons and much more!
The insulated cooler bags come in three options of green, orange and brown so customers can choose their favourite colour. These bags have a thick foil insulation to help keep chilled and frozen items cooler for longer. They also work brilliantly for a picnic or day trip.
For the Rottnest Island and Geordie Bay General Stores, Platinum Bags supplies a bright and colourful laminated shopping bag and insulated cooler bags in three colour options. These are popular with visitors to the island to take home as a souvenir.
